My Service Canada Account (MSCA) gives you online access to your Old Age Security (OAS) information and several tools for managing your benefits. After signing in, open the Old Age Security section of your dashboard and select “Apply for Old Age Security and manage my benefits.” The account is more useful than simply checking whether a payment arrived. You can follow an application, review payments, update information, submit certain documents and manage several OAS settings without calling Service Canada.
How to Sign In to My Service Canada Account
Start at the official My Service Canada Account sign-in page. You can sign in with an Interac Sign-In Partner, GCKey or, for eligible users in Alberta and British Columbia, a provincial sign-in. Use the same sign-in method connected to your account. If you do not have an MSCA, you can register from the same government page.
Once inside, the OAS section of MSCA becomes the main place to work with your pension information. One security detail worth remembering is that MSCA uses mandatory multi-factor authentication, so access involves more than your username and password.
Check Your OAS Application and Payments
The OAS dashboard separates application updates from payment records. Under “Follow up item(s)” and “Notifications,” you can see application updates and whether Service Canada needs additional documentation. If you only want to check your OAS application status, those are the sections to watch.
For payments, open “Payments” and choose “All payments.” As of 2026, MSCA displays printable OAS payment information for payments made after March 17, 2025. Older payment records are not available through this screen, so you need to contact Service Canada about OAS if you need earlier information.
Change Your OAS Information Online
The “Profile” area contains most of the account-management tools. Depending on what you need to change, you can manage your Canadian residential or mailing address, email address, telephone number, marital relationship, authorized person, manually reported income, communication preferences and voluntary income-tax deductions. You can also report that spouses or common-law partners are living apart for reasons beyond their control.
Banking changes are handled through “Manage my payment destination.” A 2026 banking change can take up to 30 days to take effect, so new details should be submitted at least 30 days before the payment date if you want the next payment deposited into the new account. We cover the process separately in our OAS direct deposit guide.
MSCA also keeps a record of changes you previously submitted online. Open “Previous changes submitted online” from the Profile area to review a submission. That record is for viewing only, so a new correction must be made through the relevant Profile option rather than by editing the old submission.
Upload OAS Documents Through MSCA
Supporting documents can be uploaded from the “Your document(s)” section of the OAS dashboard when the online document service is available for the transaction. It supports documents connected with OAS pension, Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS), Allowance and Allowance for the Survivor applications, as well as some personal-information changes.
The system can accept supporting material relating to identification, names, birth, death benefits and marital relationships. Rather than uploading documents simply because you think they may be useful, check “Follow up item(s)” first to see whether documentation has actually been requested. Our separate article explains the documents and forms used for OAS when you need the broader application requirements.
Get Your OAS Tax Slips
Open “Tax slips” on the OAS dashboard to view, save or print your T4A(OAS) or NR4-OAS. In 2026, MSCA can provide OAS slips from the current year and the previous six years when they are available online.
For an official copy, use the “Print” function to produce the PDF rather than simply printing the webpage shown on your screen. You can also change whether future OAS tax slips arrive online or by mail. A delivery preference changed after December 31 applies to the following year instead.
Some slips will not appear electronically. For example, amended OAS tax slips are mailed. A slip issued under an old Social Insurance Number also cannot be retrieved through the account after you receive a new SIN.
OAS Changes You Cannot Complete Normally Through MSCA
Online access does not mean every OAS matter can be handled inside the account. When an action is unavailable, use the appropriate OAS contact option instead of assuming a missing menu means no action is required.
This matters especially when acting as a registered trustee, guardian or another legal representative responsible for someone else’s financial affairs. Those representatives cannot use the MSCA OAS tax-slip service on the other person’s behalf and must conduct those transactions by telephone, mail or in person.
Other Questions About Managing OAS in MSCA
Can you ask for an OAS decision to be reconsidered through MSCA?
Yes. On the OAS dashboard, select “If you disagree with a decision,” then choose “Request for reconsideration” under Step 1. This provides an online route for submitting the request rather than requiring you to start from the general account-management menus.
Can you withdraw an OAS pension request through MSCA?
Yes. The Profile area includes “Withdraw Old Age Security pension request.” Using it withdraws all of your OAS pension applications. A future application would be treated as a new application, including using its new application date when determining eligibility and the effective date.
Can you delay automatically enrolled OAS through MSCA?
Yes. If you received an automatic-enrolment notification, the OAS dashboard provides an option to delay the pension. Go to “Profile,” find “Tell us if anything has changed,” select the additional options and choose “Delay receiving OAS/GIS pension.” Our OAS deferral guide covers what delaying the pension does to your benefit.
Can you authorize someone to communicate with Service Canada through MSCA?
Yes. Under “Profile,” choose “Manage my authorized person.” You can add, change or remove a person who has your consent to communicate with Service Canada about your OAS account.
